FAFSA --  The first step in the financial aid application process is to complete and submit the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The FAFSA is required to apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, loans & work-study.  It is also used to apply for most state and college aid, in addition to some private financial aid:  http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm.  For assistance completing your FAFSA application go to:  http://www.findyourpath.idaho.gov/.

 

 

Best Buy @ 15 Scholarship Program – will award 1,200 scholarships for $1,000 each to students in grades 9-12.  Winners will be selected based involvement in volunteer community service or work experience and have solid grades.   You can apply online at www.bestbuy-communityrelations.com

 National FFA Collegiate Scholarship Program: Scholarships are available to students regardless of their association with FFA, but FFA members have more opportunities to earn scholarship money than non-FFA members. Selection criteria include academic achievement, community involvement, and more. There are 118 $1000 scholarships are available at www.ffa.org/scholarships, with at least 9 awards designated for students from the Magic Valley. DEADLINE: February 15, 2012

 

National Co-op Scholarship Program :  The National Commission joins the World Association advancing Cooperative & Work-Integrated Education, announces the .National Co-op Scholarship program.  Seniors graduating in 2012 who plan to enroll at one of the following universities, can stop by the counseling center for more information regarding this scholarship opportunity.   Partner schools:  Drexel University, Johnson & Wales University, Kettering University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo or Wentworth Institute of Technology.  DEADLINE:  February 15, 2012

 

The GE-Reagan Scholarship rewards students who exemplify President Reagan’s best qualities: Leadership, Drive, Integrity, Citizenship.

To be eligible for the GE-Reagan Scholarship students must:

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Have a GPA of a 3.0 (or higher)
  • Be nominated by a community leader (a community leader can include people like a principal, elected official, or non-profit director)
  • Be recommended by an authority figure (this can include an adviser, community service organizer, coach, employer, teacher, etc.)
  • Be a high school senior (graduating in the Winter 2011/2012 or Spring 2012.

Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association:  Scholarships range from $500 to $1,200 awarded to a graduating senior in high school, high school graduate, or currently attending college interested in the irrigation industry Apply at www.idahoirrigationequipmentassociation.org.

Young Cancer Survivors: The Great West Division of the American Cancer Society has established a scholarship program to give young cancer survivors the opportunity to pursue their post-secondary education from an accredited university, community college or vocational technical school. The scholarship program is designed to ease the financial and emotional hardships associated with fighting cancer and to assist young cancer survivors in reaching their academic potential and fulfilling career dreams. Applications are available in the Counseling Center. Only complete application packets received no later than February 24, 2012 will be considered. American Cancer Society volunteers and staff will review applications through April, and recipients will be announced in May 2012. DEADLINE: February 24, 2012.

 

 

Society of Women Engineers – The Southwest Idaho Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is pleased to announce its 2012 Scholarship Program.  Each year we award young women, from anywhere in Idaho, who are entering their first year in engineering or a related field at an ABET-accredited university.  Scholarship amount is approximately $2000.00.  Application is entirely on-line at:  http://www.swiswe.org/scholarships.html  DEADLINE:  February 26, 2012.

 

 

Far West Agribusiness Association is please to inform you that we are accepting applications for our 2012 Scholarship program.  The FWAA Scholarship Program has been designed to provide outstanding high school and collegiate undergraduate students with a chance to pursue their educational goals in college.  There will be two separate selection pools…one for graduating high school seniors and one for current college students.  Scholarships are one year in length and will be awarded in $250 increments, not to exceed $1000 per student.  Any full-time student in Idaho may apply.  Applications and instructions for applying are available on our website: www.fwaa.org (click on the “scholarships” tab on the left column of the website.)  Deadline: Applications are due in our office on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

D.L. Evans Bank – will award forty (40) $250 (total $10,000.00) scholarships to the 2012 graduating seniors for the 2011-12 school year.  Preference will be given to students majoring in finance, business or economics, however, all majors will be considered.  Be sure you select the application that matches the college or university you plan to attend.  A minimum 2.0 GPA is required (3.0 for BSU).  Applications are available online at www.dlevans.com/personal/students/scholarships.html or in the counseling center.  DEADLINE: March 1, 2012.

 

 

 

Idaho Power Company Academic Excellence Scholarships – will award Ten (10) $2,000 scholarships for graduating seniors who attend full-time in a college, university or technical school in our Idaho Power service area.  These scholarship grants are non-renewable.  A GPA of 3.75 or higher is required to apply. Applications may be found online at www.idahopower.com or in the counseling center.  Applications must be mailed and cannot be submitted online.  DEADLINE to apply is March 1, 2012.

 

IAC – Idaho Association of Counties:   This scholarship was created to assist children of county employees with the increasing cost of college tuition. Scholarships are awarded to students in two-year or four-year colleges or universities, and who are children of county elected officials or county employees working 20 hours or more per week or grandchildren of county elected officials. The IAC will award various $1000 scholarships this spring.  Applications are available in the counseling center.  Mail completed applications to IAC, P.O. Box 1623, Boise ID 83701.  The Scholarship deadline is March 2, 2012.

 

The NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium (ISGC) is now accepting Scholarship Applications.  Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree at one of the ISGC member universities are encouraged to apply.  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent residency, must be or entering into a science, math, engineering, science or math education discipline as a full-time student and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Deadline for applications is Monday, March 5, 2012 at 5:00PM PST. Awards amounts are made as follows:

            1st year recipients:      $1,000

            2nd year recipients:     $1,500

            3rd year recipients:      $2,000

            4th year recipients:      $2,500

SAMMY 2011 – America’s Milk Processors (the folks who bring you the “got milk?” Milk Mustache campaign) and USA TODAY are pleased to announce the 14th annual “Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year”  The SAMMY 2011 Award program recognizes outstanding scholar athletes in grade 12 from high schools throughout the contiguous United States.  An athlete from your high school could be one of the 25 winners who will each receive the following:

  • $7,500.00 scholarship
  • An invitation for winners, parents and /or guardians to attend a SAMMY 2011 awards weekend at Walt Disney World.
  • An opportunity to be pictured in a special congratulatory Milk Mustache ad in June 2011.

 

From now until March 4, 2011 teachers, coaches, principals, guidance counselors, athletic directors, parents and relatives are encouraged to nominate a scholar athlete for the SAMMY 2011 Award. Additionally, all high school seniors are allowed and encouraged to nominate themselves for the SAMMY 2011.  Applications will only be accepted online at bodybymilk.com until March 9, 2012.

 

 

 

 

Utah State University Department of Mathematics and Statistics Undergraduate Scholarships-

Western States Bus Co.: We have two $500 scholarships by Western States Bus Co. to award to a graduating senior from TFHS and CRHS. Applications can be picked up in the counseling center. DEADLINE: March, 15th 2012.

 

 

TVCC Foundation offers many scholarships to students interested in attending Treasure Valley Community college.  If you are interested go to http://www.tvcc.cc/foundation or applications can be picked up in the counseling center.  Application deadlines are March 15, 2012.

 

Idaho Farm Bureauis offering a scholarship to a member of an Idaho Farm Bureau family that resides in Twin Falls County.  There are two scholarships available:  one for an Agricultural related field of study and one for a Non-Agricultural related field of study.  Applications are available in the counseling office.  The deadline is March 23, 2012.

 

 

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund – is offering five $2,500 scholarships for high school seniors who will graduate in 2012.  Scholars are selected based on (1) Need, (2) academics, (3) community services, and (4) writing skill.  Need is the primary criteria.  Essay (500-1000 words) required.  Paper applications only (can’t apply online) are available in the counseling center.  DEADLINE is March 31, 2012

U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program – will award forty (40) $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to enroll next fall at an eligible four-year college or university participating in the U.S. Bank No Fee Education Loan Program.  Scholarship award winners are selected through a random drawing process.  Further details, including college or university eligibility, can be found at:  http://www.usbank.com/student-lending/scholarship.html  You must apply online. DEADLINE: March 31, 2012.

 

South Idaho Association of Educational Office Professionals: This scholarship is designed to assist business education students who wish to continue their education and pursue a secretarial/clerical career, preferably in the educational field.  The scholarship is valued at $250.00.  More than one may be awarded. Applications can be picked up in the counseling Center.  Candidate must submit application and supporting documents to the SIAEOP association post-marked no later than March 31, 2012.

Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) – offers 60 different scholarships with varying application and eligibility requirements.  There is a brochure in the counseling center or online that details the different scholarships. National Science Foundation Scholarship (NSF)  S-STEM scholarship in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Idaho State University– grants award of up to $10,000 to students pursuing a BS, BA or combined BS/MS in chemistry and/or Biochemistry. Student must demonstrate financial need and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.  Apply online at http://www.isu.edu/scholar/forms/NSF-S-STEMapp.pdf   DEADLINE to apply is April 1, 2012

 

 

The First Baptist Church: $500.00 scholarship is a need based scholarship intended for a graduate of Twin Falls High School who participated in the free or reduced lunch program.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5GPA, be a U.S. citizen, and must have participated in community service activities.  Applicants must be entering into a career field in Allied Health and/or Human Services, Education or Law Enforcement.  Applications can be picked up in the counseling center. Deadline: April 15, 2012.

2012 Student –View Scholarship Program: The 2012 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $10,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school.  The program includes:

  • One (1) individual prize of a $4,000 scholarship.
  • Two (2) individual prize of a $1,000 scholarship.
  • Eight (8) individual prizes, consisting of $500 scholarships each

Wendell Chamber of Commerceis offering the Magic Valley Dairy Days Scholarship.  Applicants must submit a summary of their community service, school involvement, leadership, and awards.  Applicants must also address their financial and career plans.  Applications are available in the counseling office.  The deadline is April 30, 2012.

 

ISU (Idaho State University) - Bengal Creek Student Housing – Housing ($2475) – available to award – 2011-2012 Academic Year. Applicant must be a full time student. Have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA. Preference is given to applicants who have engaged in activities which demonstrate their abilities of leadership through community service, employment and/or student organizations. Written statement reflects community conscience and respect for social inclusiveness. Essay – “Entitlement”- Financial need is considered – Deadline: Must be post marked no later than July 1, 2011.

Montana State Universityis offering non-resident renewable scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $15,000.  Interested students should apply directly to MSU and include a transcript with ACT/SAT scores.

Distinction Awards are available to new non-resident freshmen who will enter MSU in the fall of 2012. To be considered, students must complete the Distinction Scholarship Application as soon as possible. These awards will be targeted toward non-residents who do not meet our regular Achievement Award parameters. Leadership experience, activities, honors and financial need will be considered.
