Travel to Europe
It is not too late to sign up for the 2008 spring trip through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Stop by the office to pick up your packet or contact Mrs. Bean at Robert Stuart for more information. You may hold your spot for $95.00 and then you have until December 2008 to pay the remainder of your fees.
Magic Valley Student Leadership
Sophomores: Magic Valley Student Leadership Applications are currently available in the Counseling Center. Magic Valley Student Leadership is sponsored by the Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and is designed to identify, motivate, and educate potential young community leaders. Please see Mrs. Federico or Mr. Hartley in the counseling center for more information.
The College of Idaho
Attention juniors: if you are interested in attending The College of Idaho, you have the opportunity to apply early. Deadline is July 15th. Come to the counseling office for more info.
Idaho Beat the Heat
Idaho Beat the Heat would like to invite anyone with a driver’s license and a car to come and race legally at our opening race on May 17 at the Gooding raceway. Need more information? Go to idahobeattheheat.com, or see Kayla Mandis or the front office for a flyer. Come have fun so we can show up Buhl High School because they think they can beat us!
TFHS Cheerleading Tryouts
Mandatory Information Meeting: Monday April 28th at 3:30 in the Cafeteria. Tryout days: May 12, 13, 14 from 4-6 PM in the Small Gym.
Summer School
Students: MVHS will be offering the following courses in summer school: all levels of English for credit retrieval, math retrieval, and consumer economics. MVHS summer school will take place from June 4 through June 20 and the hours are 8:00 am to 1:20 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Registration is $10 and childcare is offered for children up to 2 years of age. May 30 is the deadline for registration. You must meet the eligibility requirements to attend an alternative school. Meet with your TFHS counselor for registration forms.
Cheerleading
Any students (including MALES) interested in trying out for cheerleading but missed the meeting Monday need to talk with Mrs. Benson ASAP. You can find her in the counseling office Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Civitan Youth Seminar
Students: A Civitan Youth Seminar will be held @ Idaho State University June 8 – 12 in Pocatello. It is sponsored by Adult and Junior Civitan Clubs of the Intermountain states and emphasizes team building and leadership through interactive discussion groups lead by professionals. More information and registration forms are available in the counseling center. The registration deadline is May 20th.
Western States Bus Services
Western States Bus Services – is offering $500 to seniors pursuing higher education/trade school. Applicants must provide a statement of educational goals, and a list of school/community activities. A transcript, teacher recommendation, and paragraph explaining financial need are also required. Applications are available in the counseling office. The deadline to Ms. Barnum is May 12.
Physicals Night
All those who will be participating in a sport next year must have a physical on file. For those who are interested, we will have a physical night on Tue May 13 from 6 – 9 pm at the Physician Center which is on the St. Luke’s Magic Valley Campus. Cost is $15.
IDLA On-Line Courses
IDLA on-line courses are available this summer. Over 50 classes are being offered – mostly required ones - with a few new electives like Health Occupations and Lifetime Fitness II. If you need a particular class, early registration is encouraged. The last day to register is Friday, June 6, 2008. Classes will start June 13 and finish August 22. A home internet connection is necessary. Depending on your situation, the classes will either be free or $50 each. See the counselors for more details.
Theater Shows
The Drama Department opens its first repertory theater extravaganza this Thursday with two shows, The Beggar and the Wolf at 5pm and Wild Oats at 7:30. Each show will run through the weekend, with a total of 10 shows. Admission is only $3 for students and $5 for the combo. Beggar and the Wolf is the 4th annual children’s production involving a wolf, fountain, and a town divided. Wild Oats is a comedic romance of the Wild West with gunslingers, topless cowboys, showgirls, and live music. Guest musicians and performers are included. Children are discouraged due to some irreverent humor and innuendo. Don’t miss this last opportunity to see the senior actors, they are amazing. And don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket for the quilt by Charlotte Maffin. Tickets are only $1 and are available in the junction. Mrs. Warner, in the front office, and Aaron Leuze are in the lead for the most raffle tickets purchased. Increase your odds, buy lots. Don’t forget: come see some theater this weekend!!! Yeeeeee-HA!!!
BPA/DECA Picnic
Sign up for the BPA/DECA picnic! There will be a picnic for the BPA and DECA Thu May 15 from 4 – 6 at Centennial Park. Sign up in Mrs. Rapp’s room B-9 to bring salads, chips & cookies

Senior All-Night Party
GRADUATING SENIORS – Please plan to attend the traditional All Night Graduation Party at the CSI Expo Center. The partying begins following graduation at 10 pm through 4 am, and no one will be admitted after 11 pm. Prizes and cash awards are given throughout the evening, sumo wrestling, casino games and the ever popular hypnotist, all along with mountains of food all night long. If you leave before 4 am you must sign out and will not be allowed to re-enter. Tickets are $20.00 and will go on sale May 19 and 20 during lunch. This is an alcohol- and drug-free event!
NHS Students
Attention NHS students: Current members and new inductees need to report to Roper at 7:15 Monday, May 12th for Ceremony Practice. It is very important you are on time.

SkillsUSA: 06/22 - National leadership and Skills Conference (Kansas City, Missouri)
The national leadership and skills conference will be held June 22 - 28 in Cansas City, Missouri. The cost is $150 for students and is by invite only. You are invited if you receveived a 1st place medal in your competition at the state leadership and skills conference.

Jerome and Gooding will be joining us for the First Tri-Match of the year.
Volleyball: 09/05 - Peg Peterson Invitational (Highland High School)
Volleyball invitational where 18 teams from around the state will compete for first place.
Volleyball: 09/09 - Tri-Match Burley Bobcats/Filer Wildcats (Twin Falls High School)
Home match against Burley High School and Filer High School.
Volleyball: 09/11 - Highland High School (Highland High School)
First District Match of the season. This match is Away.
Volleyball: 09/13 - Twin Falls Invitational (Twin Falls High School)
20 teams from around the state will participate in an all day round robin style of tournament play. Each team will play 10-11 matches lasting 25 minutes.
Volleyball: 09/17 - Minico/Century Tri-Match (Twin Falls High School)
Minico and Century will be involved in a Tri-match with Twin Falls High School at Century.
Volleyball: 09/18 - Idaho Falls Tigers (Twin Falls High School)
Second District Match of the season against 2nd place Idaho Falls Tigers. JV at 6pm.
Volleyball: 09/23 - Skyline High School (Skyline High School)
Third District Match of the season is against Skyline.
Volleyball: 09/25 - Madison High School (Twin Falls High School)
Fourth District Match, This will be a 200 student night, where students will recive extra lunch time if 200 students attended the volleyball match.
Volleyball: 09/30 - Highland High School (Twin Falls High School)
Fifth District Match of the season. Again, we are going to try and have over 200 students attended the volleyball match to recive extra lunch.

Volleyball: 10/08 - Jerome High School Tigers (Jerome High School)
Twin Falls High School will be traveling across the bridge to play future conference foes Jerome Tigers.
Volleyball: 10/10 - Moutain View Invitational (To be annouced)
Mountain View Invitational is a good place to see how eastern Idaho and Boise. Last year the High Country Conference placed high at the invitational.
Volleyball: 10/14 - Madison High School (Madison High School)
Seventh District Match in Rexburg, Idaho during Potatoe week.
Volleyball: 10/16 - Skyline High School (Twin Falls High School)
Final District Conference match. This will also be the last time we may see the seniors at home. Please come and enjoy all the work they have done for our program.
